1. My Celtic Mythology/Folklore prof is indeed on iTunes! And I thought the other professor was only joking.... Look up "Lillis O Laoire" if you'd like to hear him, or click here.
2. In Irish, Daithi is teaching us songs (in Irish, of course) and accompanying them on a cardboard box that he plays like a bodhrán (and really well, at that! He told us that milk jugs were pretty good for practicing, too, and that it was a good way to see if you were any good at it before investing in the actual instrument!). Óró 's é do bheatha 'bhaile was the song this week; the clip is from Wind that shakes the barley:
3. I had an amusing discussion this morning with the nurse who did the blood draw. We were talking about my upcoming trip to Amsterdam, and how she loves it there. She asked if we'd be "trying the delights of a brown cafe" and proceeded to tell me about her experience: "I partook only once --and ended up singing karaoke in fluent Dutch. Well, I thought it was fluent Dutch!"
4. Student Union elections are today, which means lots of pamphlet-handing and pre-class-speech-making. My favorite poster is in the style of the Obama posters, with the slogan "Sea, Is Féidir Linn" plastered across the front: "Yes, we can."
5. The weather has been very weird. We went from this:
to this (if you click on the picture it's actually a movie):

and now we're back to this again:
Also, there was a perfect pink cloud on the way home the other day:
6. And finally, my favorite t.v. advertisement:
7. And really finally, this is Archimede's Balls, the sculpture outside the main arts concourse.
Well, at any rate, that's what everyone calls it!

Also also, that ad was funny. Especially the end!
Also, I'm waiting for the end of class tomorrow to read your super-long blog post, because I don't want to have to rush through it, but I'm looking forward to it.
I'm also looking forward to the mysterious e-mail that I keep saying I'm going to send you! ;)
